Ray Field of Dougans Racing Engines Builds Winning Combinations for SCORE’s Best Race Teams
The 2015 SCORE Desert Racing season was one that engine builder Ray Fields, owner of Dougan’s Racing Engines, will never forget. Fields not only won the 2015 SCORE Engine Builder of the Year Award, but he also won Performance Racing Engine of the Year Award at the Performance Racing Industry trade show last December. This type of achievement doesn’t come from simply building the most powerful engines, or for having more of them installed in Class-1 and Trophy Truck teams. Fields believes that being consider the best engine builder comes from a combination of customer service, reliability, and proving that teamwork is key to reaching your goals.
“This SCORE Award was something that we as a company had our goals set on long ago,” said Fields. “So once we knew it was final, my reaction personally, was a feeling that is hard to describe. All my life, I had been working to be just considered in this conversation. Now for it to come true was very satisfying. After all of these years to be recognized at this level, may very well be the highlight of my career.”
